The Governors have agreed the following charging policy in accordance with Section 110 of the Education Reform Act.
1. Voluntary Funding
The school may request voluntary contributions from parents for activities in school time that can only run if there is sufficient voluntary funding, whilst ensuring that no pupil is debarred solely by the inability of parents to pay. An activity may be cancelled if insufficient people contribute.
2. Residential Visits
The school may levy the charge to parents for all board and lodging requirements on residential visits, and to levy charges for activities outside school hours where appropriate. Exception may be made for those families in receipt of Income Support or Family Credit.
3. Remission of Charges.
No child may be disadvantaged solely on their inability to pay.
4. Amount of Overall Subsidy
The proportion of the costs of an activity, which can be properly charged to public or non-public funds, is left to the discretion of the Head teacher.
5. Disputes
Any issues, which may require a decision over the implementation of the policy, must be submitted to the Head and Chair of governors.
