The school aims to provide a sound background in sport through the National Curriculum Physical Education and a range of extra-curricular activities including HI5, basketball, football, sailing and rounders. Within these opportunities we are concerned with developing good quality performance, an understanding of games principles, enjoyment and knowing how to improve.
Provision:
All pupils follow the National Curriculum Programme of Study for P.E.
Key Stage 1 pupils participate in games, gymnastics, swimming, athletics activities and dance both indoors and outdoors. Key Stage 2 pupils continue to work in these areas with opportunities for adventurous activities.
We aim that everyone receives two hours each week of curriculum time for P.E.
In addition, between 4 and 4 hours of extra-curricular activities are organised after school
Teams represent the school in local leagues and friendly matches in football, HI5, cricket, rounders and area athletics events. The school has a good reputation for its sportsmanship.
The school uses the village hall, playground and playing field for P.E. activities.
The school uses outside specialists for many areas of P.E. teaching
